With a powerful portfolio of design experience that belies her young age, FIONA SEAH is the head of ABARA’s design and production team. Her professional training, specialising in luxury handbags and small leather goods, allows Ms. Seah to bring a refined sensibility to all that she creates at ABARA.

Ms. Seah was always interested in the technical side of things; Having graduated with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering in 2012, she brings to fashion the solidity and precision  of the technicalities of how things work. A childhood love for fashion led her to pursue a course in fashion and Ms. Seah graduated with a BA(Hons) in Fashion Design and Textiles with First Class Honours in 2016, from Goldsmiths University of London. In the course of her studies, she had the privilege of serving an internship with Marchesa in their couture department in New York. She became a professional bagmaker after training in Arsutoria School Milano in 2017, in the Bag Pattern Making and Prototyping course in Milan under the tutelage of Italian masters and craftsmen from luxury houses such as Versace and Valentino.

In 2018, she assumed the position of designer for an international handbag brand based in Singapore, working directly with an LVMH tannery to produce exotic leather handbags and SLGs. These handbags were retailed in luxury department stores such as Harrods London, Galeries Lafayette Doha, Gabriele Blachnik Munich, Saks Fifth Avenue Los Angeles, Tsum Moscow, Leclaireur Paris, Malmaison by the Hourglass and On Pedder Singapore.

Besides handbags and leather goods, Ms. Seah expresses her creative instincts in bespoke garment design during her spare time. Having worked with renown bespoke bridal ateliers in Singapore, her personal designs have been showcased on fashion runways at ASEAN Fashion Week, Laos Fashion Week, Vietnam Fashion Week and Tangs Orchard.
